In
1983, BMW, Brabham, Nelson Piquet and Paul Roche teamed up to win the
Formula 1 world championship. The legendary BMW F1 engine in the
Brabham BT 52 proved to be an unbeatable combination in Piquet's able
hands.
Even insiders had a hard time understanding how Roche had coaxed more
than 1,000 turbo-charged horsepower out of a standard block. Roche
recalls, "It had to have been 1,400 hp. No one knows for
sure; the scale on the engine brake only went up to 1,280 hp."
This superbly crafted replica is available in 1:43
and
1:18
scale, with steerable wheels and removable trunk lid on the larger
model.
The 1:18 model will not be available until late September '99.
However, we will be happy to take your order now for delivery when
available. (Please be sure to use a credit card with an expiration
date later than September.)
